Educational Services
CFMDC is able to offer packaged programs, study guides, research services and suggested films for your classroom. We are also happy to present distribution workshops to your class or community space. Our focused collections include LGBTQ2SIA+ works, Documentary, Animation and Experimental.
Workshops
Looking to educate your class, group or peers about what CFMDC distribution looks like?
We offer distribution workshops for emerging artists who are looking to disseminate their works to national or international markets. With an emphasis on how CFMDC functions, our workshops overview how an artist-run non profit distribution centre operates, tips for editing your film, national standards for screening fees for artist payment and commercial vs. artist run distribution.
To book a workshop contact Genne (genne@cfmdc.org) or Morgan (morgan@cfmdc.org).
CFMDC In The Classroom
CFMDC is available to come into your classroom to discuss film distribution for emerging artists or screen a selection of films from the collection! Let us know what you are looking for, and we would be happy to assist.

Internships For Course Credit
CFMDC is happy to welcome students who are looking for course credit into our office to learn hands-on the inner workings of an artist-run centre.
Students in the past have taken on projects such as:
- Databasing and organizing our expansive book and publication library
- Inspecting and shipping film prints from our analog film vault
- Assisting with our programming events
- Researching new clients for educational sales
- Educational outreach projects
We are happy to meet with potential interns to discuss what they are interested in working on at the CFMDC.
